Welcome to Team Sonny's Sunshine, where we are proud to introduce Kara Onorato, a transformational leader who serves as the inaugural Chief Financial Officer for the Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC). As a 501(c)3 organization, MDIC's mission is to serve the intersecting needs of the medical device industry, the FDA, and related organizations, all dedicated to a vibrant medical device industry that meets global public health needs.

Kara's professional background spans over 23 years, during which she has held numerous leadership roles in the government, nonprofit, banking, and private healthcare industries. Her expertise in strategic planning, financial stability, and culture improvement has helped organizations achieve their goals and enhance their public image. Kara received her BS in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and her MBA from Gannon University.

Kara's passions extend beyond her professional life to various social causes, including access to healthcare and education, poverty, and civil rights. As a dedicated community leader, Kara advocates for these causes both personally and professionally. In her free time, she enjoys writing, cooking, and traveling.

Lastly, Kara has dedicated her life to being a working to bring awareness to the needs of the cancer community and to raise funds for cancer research in memory of her daughter, Sonata "Sonny" Greishaw. At the young age of 20, Sonny lost her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2017, inspiring Kara to continue her daughter's legacy and support cancer research. At Team Sonny's Sunshine, we are proud to have Kara as part of our team and admire her passion for making a positive impact in the world.
