Day 25 of a Month of Sonny: Costumes and Playing Dress Up—As a small child Sonny loved Halloween costumes and playing dress up. She was Elmo, a Teletubby; and ironically enough, a sunflower. I guess that love started even before we both realized it would become a symbol of her outlook on life, her personality and a sign of her presence from the afterlife. Sonny had all sorts of things to play dress up in when it was not Halloween. One of her favorites was a bride costume she would pair with her Nana’s wedding vail and a bouquet of white silk flowers. She would walk up and down Nana’s hallway for hours as Nana would sing “Here Comes the Bride”. No costumes are needed for her now though.
